Notes: — Dianthus rupicola Bivona Bernardi (1806: 31) subsp. rupicola . In the same sheet, which we traced at BOLO, two different plants are included, both have the stem inserted in to a label with a cut. Without doubts are therefore attributable to two different collections. The second individual in the same sheet was sent by Gussone in 1824 and is reported from the limestone cliffs of Sicily and Scilla.
Dianthus bisignanii . In addition to the epitype above designate, three other specimens collected in Calabria by M. Tenore were found at P ( P- 4929917!, P- 4929918!, and P- 4929929!, images available at https://science. mnhn.fr/institution/mnhn/collection/p/item/p04929917, https://science.mnhn.fr/institution/mnhn/collection/p/item/ p049299178, https://science.mnhn.fr/institution/mnhn/collection/p/item/p04929929) and one at BOLO.All completely fit the diagnosis by Tenore, but we have no evidence that the five found specimens belong to a unique collection and were sent by Tenore to different correspondents in different dates. Thus we here designated, as epitype, the sheet housed in K, which is the better preserved among the five detected.
