The first record of Adomerus maculipes (Mulsant & Rey, 1852) (Heteroptera¦ Cydnidae )
for the Canary Islands ( Spain) was reported, as Canthophorus maculipes (Mulsant & Rey, 1852) , by ROCA-CUSACHS et al. (2020) from the island of La Palma, based on one specimen found in 1993 at Marcos y Cordero and has been the only record of the species reported from the archipelago, so far. C anthophorus maculipes was transferred to the genus Adomerus Mulsant & Rey, 1866 because of some characters shared with this genus ( GAPON, 2018; AUKEMA et al., 2021).
Herein, the first record of A. maculipes on the island of Tenerife is reported¦ On 08-04-2025, an adult specimen ( Fig. 1 View Fig ) was found in the Barranco del Pino , located in the northern part of the island (coordinates¦ 28.398406, -16.493319) GoogleMaps . A photograph of the specimen was uploaded to the online database iNaturalist (see here).
