? Sigambra parva (Day, 1963)

DISTRIBUTION: CA, SA.

LITERATURE RECORDS: Fassari 1983; Radić 2009.

OTHER REPORTED NAMES: Ancistrosyllis parva Day, 1963

REMARKS: Sigambra parva was considered an alien species in the Mediterranean, that originated from South Africa ( Zenetos et al. 2010). However, due to the confusing taxonomy concerning S. tentaculata and S. parva , the presence of S. parva in the Mediterranean cannot be assumed, and it may be too premature to regard it as an alien species.

Sigambra tentaculata (Treadwell, 1941)
