LITERATURE RECORDS: Banse 1959; Kiseleva 1964; Katzmann 1972; Požar-Domac 1994; Zahtila 1995. NEW RECORDS: BM52, BM54.
REMARKS: Castelli et al. (2008) assumed that all the Italian records of E. hebes refer to E. meridionalis Cognetti, 1955 , thus E. hebes was not included in the checklist of Italian polychaetes. In the present checklist both species are regarded as present.
