REMARKS: According to Pleijel (1998), Periboeia Ehlers, 1864 may constitute a senior synonym of the name Hesiospina Imajima & Hartman, 1964 . Since type matrial of P. longocirrata , the type species of the genus, does not exist, the designation of a neotype may be justified when topotype material from the Northern Adriatic Sea becomes available.
