Triplocania garciamarquezi View in CoL n. sp.
( Figs 146–157 View FIGURES 146 – 151 View FIGURES 152 – 157 )
Diagnosis. Forewings with submarginal pigmented band from R2+3 to areola postica. Central sclerite of hypandrium with postero-lateral sclerotized processes directed outwards, and stout, deeply obtusely concave median process, with setose lobes. Phallosome with mesal endophallic sclerite H-shaped, anterior arms distally rounded, posterior arms narrowing to end, pointed ( Fig. 151 View FIGURES 146 – 151 ). Female ninth sternum with rectangular posterior process, postero-lateral sausage-shaped pigmented areas, and transverse band next to anterior border, with posterior border slightly projected in the middle ( Fig. 157 View FIGURES 152 – 157 ). It is close to T. yanacona n. sp., differing from it by the shape of the anterior and posterior endophallic sclerites. Female ninth sternum somewhat similar to T. yanacona n. sp., with posterior and anterior borders straight, but with the pigmented areas described above different.
Male. Color (in 80% ethanol). Body pale brown. Compound eyes ochre; ocelli hyaline, with ochre centripetal crescents. Head pattern ( Fig. 148 View FIGURES 146 – 151 ), a brown band from the inner border of each compound eye to the ocellar group, and an irregular band from each compound eye to the epistomal sulcus, extended also to the ocellar group; genae dark brown, with cream spots; postclypeus with dark brown V-shaped area; anteclypeus and labrum brown; antennae brown, scape dark brown, pedicel and flagellum pale brown. Mx1–3 cream, Mx4 brown. Thorax pale brown, with cream small spots. Coxae, trochanters and much of the femora cream, tibiae and tarsi pale brown. Forewing veins with a brown spot at wing margin. Pterostigma with brown bands proximally and distally. Hindwings hyaline, with small basal spot and apex pale brown; veins with brown spot at wing margin. Abdomen pale cream, with subcuticular brown spots in tergites and wide subcuticular bands in the sternites.
Morphology. As in diagnosis, plus the following: Head ( Fig. 148 View FIGURES 146 – 151 ): H/MxW: 1.55; H/D: 2.41, IO/MxW: 0.68, MxW/IO: 2.28. Vertex slightly above the level of the compound eyes. Outer cusp of lacinial tips broad, with three broad denticles. Mx4/Mx2: 1.11. Forewings ( Fig. 146 View FIGURES 146 – 151 ): L/W: 2.48, pterostigma: lp/wp: 5.00; areola postica elongate, slanted posteriorly, la/ha: 2.06. Hindwings ( Fig. 147 View FIGURES 146 – 151 ): l/w: 3.18. Hypandrium ( Fig. 150 View FIGURES 146 – 151 ). Phallosome Yshaped anteriorly, with long stem; external parameres distally rounded, outer border strongly sclerotized, bearing a row of denticles; anterior sclerites with outer arms long, stout, inner arms joining them near proximal ends, Yshaped, with long, acuminate stem ( Fig. 151 View FIGURES 146 – 151 ); posterior endophallic sclerites small, transverse, close to the distal ends of the external parameres. Paraprocts ( Fig. 149 View FIGURES 146 – 151 ), broad, oval, with setae as illustrated; sensory fields with 20 trichobothria on basal rosettes. Epiproct wide, almost straight anteriorly, rounded posteriorly, setae as illustrated ( Fig. 149 View FIGURES 146 – 151 ).
