Heterotypic synonym: Cleome hotsonii Blatter & Hallberg (in Blatter et al. 1919: 58). Type : India: hills near Ispikan, about 20 miles NE of Mand, 1200-1500 ft (90, 90 A), fl. & fr. in Mar. 1918, Hotson s.n. (holotype: BLAT barcode BLAT89205 About BLAT [photo!]) .
Note: Hedge & Lamond (1970) states that the types of C. oxypetala are at W, E, K, BM. There are apparently no specimens of this at G where many of the Bossier types are located. Note that on the same sheet as the isolectotype collection P00741869 , there is also mounted a Bunge collection ( P00741870 ) that is not type material .
Geographic distribution: Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Arabia.
