Range:— Lesser Antilles; Guyanan Highlands; Andes from Venezuela to Bolivia (CO, LP, SC).
Ecology:— Common; terrestrial in humid forests, especially in open habitats and edges, along streams, roadsides, and in secondary habitats; 850–3600 m.
Notes:— Some Bolivian collections seemingly lack long aerophores at pinna bases, but are otherwise typical of P. lechleri .
