Alexander, 1948: 161–163 (original description). Type locality: Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, Teresópolis. Allotype female with labels: (1) handwritten on white paper: “ Brazil | Rio | Teresopolis | 1000m. | X-1942 | Travassos”; (2) printed with handwritten inscriptions on red paper: “ALLOTYPE Ψ | Austrolimnophila | comantis | C. P. Alexander”.
Preservation: mounted at the tip of a pinned paper triangle. Missing parts: right antenna, right front leg and left middle leg.
