Tipula (Microtipula) affabilis Alexander, 1945
Alexander, 1945a: 247–248 (original description); 279, figure 1 (male terminalia). Type locality: Brazil, São Paulo, São Paulo (Serra da Cantareira).
Holotype male with labels: (1) handwritten on white paper: “ Brazil | São Paulo | S. Cantareira | 900m; Dec. 40 [December, 1940] | Travassos”; (2) printed with handwritten inscriptions on red paper: “ HOLOTYPE ♂ | Tipula | affabilis | C. P. Alexander”.
Preservation: mounted at the tip of two pinned paper triangles; terminalia mounted on a plastic slide pinned with the specimen. Missing parts: right antenna, right wing and most legs except right front leg and right middle leg. Additional note: the original description indicates as collectors “Guimarães & Travassos”. This differs from the specimen label which indicates only “Travassos” as the collector.
