Alexander, 1945a: 253–255 (original description). Type locality: Brazil, São Paulo, São Paulo (Serra da Cantareira). Holotype male with labels: (1) handwritten on white paper: “ Brazil | Sao Paulo | S. Cantareira | 900m, XII. 40 [December, 1940] | Travassos”; (2) printed with handwritten inscriptions on red paper: “ HOLOTYPE ♂ | Tipula | feliciana | C. P. Alexander”.
Preservation: mounted at the tip of a pinned paper triangle; terminalia mounted on a plastic slide pinned with the specimen. Missing parts: left antenna, right wing and most legs except left front leg. Additional note: the original description indicates as collectors “Guimarães & Travassos”. This differs from the specimen label which indicates only “Travassos” as the collector.
