Comments. This species is the first dysderid described from the Caucasus. It has been treated in four taxonomic publications. Notably, it appears to be the largest Dysdera species found in the Caucasus, with males measuring over 12 mm and females over 15 mm. It is known to inhabit various forest types in the lowland, foothill, and low mountain regions, with elevations up to 1000 m. Within these habitats, it can be found in leaf litter, under stones, rotten wood, or beneath bark ( Dunin 1992b).
Distribution. Azerbaijan and Iran. In Azerbaijan, it is known from five localities in southeasternmost part of the country ( Otto 2022). The new record from Iran extends the known range of the species ca. 1° to the south.
