Distribution. Throughout Central and Southern Europe ( Merz & Korneyev, 2004). Throughout Ukraine; Chernivtsi Region (first record).
Notes. Wide oligophagous species; larvae in flower heads of various species of Centaurea , as well as some Carduus and Galactites (Merz, 1994) ; in Chernivtsi Region associated with Centaurea scabiosa and C. jacea . Overwinters as adults.
