Status: Both molecular ( Bektaş et al. 2017, 2019) and morphologic ( Kaya 2019) studies did not confirm the morphological differences between C. ekmekciae and C. capoeta originally proposed by Turan et al. (2006). Recently, Capoeta ekmekciae is accepted as a synonym of C. capoeta by Kuljanishvili et al. (2020).

Note. The collection codes of paratypes were misspelled as “ FRR ” in the original description.They are corrected here as “ FFR ”. Turan et al. (2006b) misrecorded coordiantes of the FFR 704 About FFR as 41°21’N 41°42’E (41.3500N 41.7000E). Here, the coordinates are corrected as 41.4521N 41.7103E GoogleMaps .
