Coenosia microcalyptra Emden, 1940: 150 View in CoL

Holotype female seen; in good condition.

Diagnosis. Small species (3.4 mm); general colour brown, with grey pollinosity; dorsum of scutum and abdomen a little glossy; palpus brown; legs brown with grey pollinosity; wing a little infuscated; antennal insertion slightly projecting; postpedicel about 2.2 times the length of the pedicel; arista with very short hairs; scutellum with both pairs of setae present and long, and with setulae on disc; all katepisternals long and similar in size; both calypters very short, the lower one not projecting; haltere yellow; fore tibia with one short median seta; hind tibia with one median anterodorsal, one median short anteroventral and one posterodorsal.

Notes. Originally described in Coenosia . Known only from the holotype female.
