18. Lychnophora rupestris Semir in Semir et al. (2014: 988). Type:— BRAZIL. Minas Gerais: Santana do Riacho, Cardeal Mota , Serra do Cipó , estrada da usina, 5–8 May 1998, M.E. Mansanares & L.Y.S. Aona 01 (holotype: UEC; isotype: K [not seen]) ( Fig. 27 G ).

Distribution and habitat: — Brazil (Minas Gerais, known only from the Serra do Cipó). Campo rupestre; 900–1400 m.

Taxonomic notes: —A microendemic species belonging to the Lychnophora granmogolensis species complex ( Semir et al. 2014), and sets apart from L. granmogolensis by its leaf insertion with sparse tuft of small trichomes (vs. dense tuft of long trichomes), leaf venation hyphodromous and midvein carinate on adaxial surface (vs. brochidodromous and midvein impressed). Lychnophora rupestris is not sympatric with any other species of the complex.
