Possesses activity of β -galactosidase, but not arginine dihydrolase or urease. Assimilates arabinose, mannose, mannitol and maltose, but not glucose, N- acetyl-glucosamine, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, or phenylacetic acid. Strain GY1 (= NIBRBAC000502403) was isolated from lichen, Gimnyeong, Jeju-do, Korea. The GenBank accession number for the 16S rRNA gene sequence is MK201775 .
