Distribution: It occurs in Mexico, Panama, Guatemala, Belize, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Paraguay and Bolivia ( Fortunato 1986); in Brazil it occurs in states of all regions, but in the Central-west region only in Goiás and in the North only in Acre ( Flora do Brasil 2020). In ParNa Iguaçu it occurs in the Céu Azul and Foz do Iguaçu areas.
Reproductive period: It flowers from January to April and fruits from April to June ( Fortunato 1986). In ParNa Iguaçu it was found with fruit in March, April and June.
Diagnostic characteristics: Lianas with tendrils, leaves unifoliolate and bilobed, with a reddish blade when young.
Conservation: Native-NE.
