Distribution: In Brazil it occurs in states of all regions ( Flora do Brasil 2020). In ParNa Iguaçu it occurs in all areas.
Reproductive period: It flowers throughout the year, fruits from November to May ( Possette & Rodrigues 2010). In ParNa Iguaçu it was found in flower in February, March, from June to December and in fruit in February, April, May, August and November.
Diagnostic characteristics: The species of this genus are recognized by their arboreal habit with pinnate leaves, extra-floral nectaries between leaflet pairs and numerous, whitish stamens. I. marginata possesses a thin, sometimes inconspicuous foliar rachis compared to the other species occurring in ParNA Iguaçu.
Conservation: Native-NE.
