Distribution: In Brazil it occurs in states of all regions ( Flora do Brasil 2020). In ParNa Iguaçu it occurs in the Céu Azul and Foz do Iguaçu areas.
Reproductive period: It flowers in the months of July to October, fruits in November, December and January ( Possette & Rodrigues 2010). In ParNa Iguaçu it was found in flower in October and November, in fruit in October.
Diagnostic characteristics: Trees with pinnate leaves easily confused with I. vera as both species present tomentose leaflets and congested inflorescences, but this species can be differentiated by its foliar nectaries up to 1.1 mm diam and striations on the calyx (vs. nectaries more than 1.5 mm diam and without striations on the calyx in I. vera ).
Conservation: Native-NE.
