Recently, Botero et al. (2019) revised the genus Pteroplatus Buquet, 1840 , and listed new junior synonyms of P. pulcher Buquet, 1840 . However, they forget to include P. suturalis Buquet, 1840 as a new synonym of P. pulcher . Examination of the photograph of the holotype ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 16–17 ) sent by Gérard L. Tavakilian (MNHN), as well as the original description, provide evidence for the synonymy.
