Material examined. Holotype. BRAZIL: Minas Gerais, Taiobeiras , 15°53’S; 42°04’W, 08–17.IV.2002, Equipe Biota leg., 1M ( IBSP 166153). Paratype. BRAZIL: same data as the holotype, 1F ( IBSP 166154). Paratype. BRAZIL: São Paulo, Teodoro Sampaio, Parque Estadual do Morro do Diabo, 22°31’S, 52°18’W, 24–31.III.2003, Equipe Biota leg., 1M, 1F ( IBSP 166155). Paratype. BRAZIL: São Paulo, Teodoro Sampaio, Parque Estadual da Morro do Diabo, 22°31’S, 52°18’W, 24–31.III.2003, Equipe Biota leg., 1 F (MCN 52002).
Etymology. The specific name is a noun in apposition taken from the type locality.
Diagnosis. The male of Thymoites taiobeiras n. sp. differs from other species by the femur and tibia I enlarged and tibia I–II with ventral and dorsal macrosetae ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 15 – 20 ), resembles that of T. villarricaensis Levi, 1964 (see Levi, 1964: figs. 39, 42) in the form of the carapace, high and unmodified in ocular area ( Figs. 16, 17 View FIGURES 15 – 20 ), but differs in the presence in ocular area of two setae, trajectory of the sperm duct in the tegulum ( Fig.16 View FIGURES 15 – 20 ), conductor pointed and the shape of tibia of palp ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 15 – 20 ). The female of Thymoites taiobeiras n. sp. is close to T. villarricaensis Levi (see Levi, 1964: figs. 40, 41) by the long and not coiled copulatory duct ( Figs. 19, 20 View FIGURES 15 – 20 ), but differs by the larger spermathecae and “S” shaped copulatory duct ( Fig. 20 View FIGURES 15 – 20 ).
