Key to species of Engelimyia (males only)

1. Sternite 5 with median part at most slightly raised, in lateral view with a blunt angle between anterior and posterior halves and posterior half with a more or less triangular appearance ( Figs 5, 35). Surstylus simple apically ( Figs 4, 34). Pregonite with strongly curved, uninterrupted dorsal margin and simple tip ( Figs 7, 37) .................................. 2

Sternite 5 with median part abruptly raised, in lateral view with a right angle between anterior and posterior halves and posterior half more rectangular or quadratic than triangular ( Figs 13, 27). Surstylus apically bifid, either very clearly ( Fig. 12) or more concealed when the division is in the sagittal plane ( Fig. 26). Pregonite with gently curved dorsal margin and an apical or subapical notch ( Figs 15, 29) ........................... 3

2. Cercus in lateral view with distinctly truncated apex ( Fig. 3). Surstylus almost triangular, anterior free margin at most slightly concave. Lateral stylus with large, curved pro

jection at base, apical membranous structure with moderately constricted base, vesica triangular, phallic tube dorsally bulging but without distinct projection proximal to juxta ( Figs 8, 39) .................................................................................................... bosqi Cercus in lateral view with subapical dorsal hump and apicodorsal sinuous outline ( Fig. 33). Surstylus with median restriction (i.e., anterior free margin strongly concave or sinuous), distal part rounded and distinctly set off ( Fig. 34). Lateral stylus with small flaplike projection at base, apical membranous structure with strongly constricted base, vesica almost quadratic, phallic tube dorsally with triangular projection proximal to juxta ( Figs. 38, 42) ................................................................. qibos sp. nov.

3. Sternite 5 with its median projection recurving anteriorly ( Fig. 13). Cerci asymmetrical in posterior view, apicomedian margin of right cercus slightly overlapping left cercus ( Fig. 10). Surstylus with apex bifid in the transverse plane, prongs almost aligned in lateral view but lateral (or outer) prong slightly shorter than median (or inner) prong ( Fig. 12). Juxtal apophyses long ( Figs 16, 17, 40) ............................ inops

Sternite 5 with its median projection abruptly ending and not recurving ( Fig. 27). Cerci symmetrical in posterior view ( Fig. 24). Surstylus with large, saddlelike bifurcation apically, prongs distinctly visible in lateral view ( Fig. 26). Juxtal apophyses short ( Figs 30, 41) ..................................................................................... psino sp. nov.
