Type genus: Archaeoluprops gen. n.

Etymology. Stem: Luprop- ( Bouchard et al. 2011); the name is combined from archaeo- (ancient—Greek origin) and Lupropini , the tribe of darkling beetle within the subfamily Lagriinae .
