Diagnosis. Male terminalia acanthodriline, sometimes with microscolecine reduction. One or two gizzards before the genital segments, three pairs of stalked extramural calciferous glands in segment xv-xvii, excretory system meroic with astomate meronephridia accompanied caudally by stomate enteronephric filiform megameronephridia ( Fig. 1 View Figs 1–3 ). Paired digitate caeca present in at least one, usually several adjacent segments of the intestine; typhlosole present, ventral setae not modified.
Type species: Millsonia ghanensis SIMS, 1965 .
Etymology. The new genus is named in honour of the recognized earthworm taxonomist
REGINALD WILLIAMS SIMS.
Remarks. The new genus is closely related to Millsonia BEDDARD, 1894 but differs from it in the enteronephric condition of the excretory system.
