Distribution in the Arabian Peninsula: Qatar ( Guichard 1989b as Stizoides poecilopterus Handlirsch, 1892 ), Saudi Arabia (de Beaumont 1962 as S. poecilopterus ; Guichard 1989b as S. poecilopterus ; Gadallah & Assery 2004a; Gadallah et al. 2013), United Arab Emirates ( Roche 1981 as S. poecilopterus ; Hamer 1986, 1988 both as S. poecilopterus ; Guichard 1989b as S. poecilopterus ; Gillett & Gillett 2005 as S. poecilopterus ; Howarth & Gillett 2008; Schmid-Egger 2011; Gess & Roosenschoon 2016), Yemen ( Kohl 1906 as Stizus calopteryx Handlirsch, 1892 ).
Extralimital distribution: Algeria, Egypt, India, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Mauritania, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestine, Senegal, Sikkim, Sudan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan.
