Type species: Pseudanapis paroclus Simon, 1905

Diagnosis. Males and females can be distinguished by their coarsely punctate carapace, sternum and ventral abdominal scutum; male palp with two femoral, one or two patellar, and no tibial apophyses on the male palp ( Platnick & Shadab 1979: 16).

Composition in America. Pseudanapis domingo Platnick & Shadab, 1979 , P. gertschi ( Forster, 1958) , P. hoeferi Kropf, 1995 .

Distribution in America. Mexico, Panama, Ecuador and Brazil.
