Range:— Costa Rica and Panama; Andes from Venezuela to southern Chile and Argentina; Galápagos Islands. In Bolivia, found in BE, CH, CO, LP, SC, and TA.
Ecology:— Common; terrestrial in wet, open places such as banks of irrigation and roadside ditches, in creeks, along rivers, and in seeps; (200) 1000–4200 m, mostly above 2000 m.
