Nervilia parishiana (King & Pantl.) Schltr., Bot. Jahrb. Syst. View in CoL 45: 403, 1911
Basionym: Pogonia parishiana King & Pantl., J. Asiat. Soc. Bengal, Pt. View in CoL 2, Nat . Hist. 66: 597, 1897. Type:— MYANMAR. Shan State: Taunggyi District, Abdul Khalil s.n. (holotype: CAL).
Specimens examined:— MANDALAY. Pyinoolwin District : 1065 m, Jun 1916, Rodger 572 ( E), ident. uncertain [material insufficient] . SHAN. Taunggyi District : type .
Distribution:— Endemic.
Note:— Previously included in N. maculata (C.S.P.Parish & Rchb.f.) Schltr. but appears to be distinct. It is said to have flowers ‘of a pink colour’ (vs. green tepals, and yellow-green lip in N. maculata ) and midlobe much larger than side lobes with a broad base. It is best to accept it as different from N. maculata until the type can be found to verify its status.
