( Figs. 17–19 View FIGURES 17 – 19 )

Type material. Holotype female, CHINA: Guizhou Province, Jiangkou County, Mt. Fanjing, Huixiangping [N 27.55°, E 108.41°], 1 August 2001, J. X. Zhang and Z. S. Zhang leg.; paratype 1Ƥ, same data as holotype ( MHBU).

Diagnosis. This new species resembles Trachelas japonicus Bösenberg & Strand, 1906 , but can be distinguished from the latter by: (1) atrium rounded anteriorly; (2) epigynal plate with two triangular impressions on the lateral side posteriorly; (3) bursa situated medially of the copulatory openings.

Etymology. The species name is a noun in apposition, derived from the type locality.

Description. Female (holotype). Total length 3.52: cephalothorax 1.33 long, 1.12 wide; abdomen 2.24 long, 1.38 wide. Carapace ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 17 – 19 ) light yellow, usually darker in eye area; thickly covered with tiny granulations; elongate-ovoid in dorsal view, narrower in eye region, highest near fovea, widest at coxae II and III. Fovea nearly pit-shaped, dark and distinct. Clypeal height 0.08. Eye diameters: AME 0.07, ALE 0.10, PME 0.08, PLE 0.08. Eye interdistances: AME–AME 0.05, AME–ALE 0.05, PME–PME 0.10, PME–PLE 0.10; MOA 0.18 long, front width 0.13, back width 0.25. Chelicerae with three promarginal and two retromarginal teeth. Endites, labium and sternum brown. Sternum shield-shaped. Leg formula: 1423 ( Table 5 View TABLE 5 ).

Abdomen ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 17 – 19 ) light gray dorsally, distinct pattern formed by brown spots of different size, and with some white stripes on its posterior part. Sigilla indistinct. Venter of abdomen light brown.

Epigynum as illustrated ( Figs 18–19 View FIGURES 17 – 19 ). Copulatory openings concave, longitudinally tube-shaped, expanded to oval opening medially. Two large atria anteriorly, nearly oval; two triangular impressions posteriorly implying the inner muscular attachment. Bursa situated medially of copulatory openings, teardropshaped; spermathecae globose, larger than bursa, situated in the posterior part of epigynum, connecting with the copulatory ducts through thinner and longer ducts; fertilization ducts short, arising from the posterolateral ends of the spermathecae.
