Brief description: —Shrubs ca. 3 m tall. Leaf petiole 5–8 mm long, blade 15–18 × 1.5–2 cm, margin entire, venation penninervous, abaxial surface sparsely puberulous; capitula radiate, involucre 6–7 × 6–9 mm, campanulate, phyllaries glabrous or glabrescent; receptacle holopaleaceous, paleae ca. 4 mm long; ray florets ca. 13 per capitulum, corolla 6–7 mm long, purplish to yellow; disc florets 40–50 per capitulum, corolla ca. 5 mm long, purple; cypselae ca. 1.5 mm long, eglandular, pappus 30–35 bristles.
Geographic distribution: —Endemic to Mexico, in Oaxaca state (TEX 00417910) ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ).
