Brief description: —Shrubs 3–5 m tall. Leaf petiole 5–12 mm long, blade 20–40 × 5–20 cm, margin entire, rarely bilobed, venation camptodromous, abaxial surface scabrid to hirsute; capitula discoid, involucre 10–12 × 12–15 mm, campanulate, phyllaries puberulent; disc florets 50–65 per capitulum, corolla 6–7 mm long, pale yellow to yellow; cypselae 1.5–2 mm long, eglandular, pappus 60–65 bristles.
Geographic distribution: —Endemic to Belize (MO 3401756!) ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ).
