Brief description: —Shrubs 1–2 m tall. Leaf petiole 10–30 mm long, blade 15–26 × 2–20 cm, margin entire, venation camptodromous, abaxial surface hispid; capitula discoid, involucre 6–7 × 3–5 mm, cylindrical, phyllaries glabrous, sometimes hispid; receptacle holopaleaceous, paleae 4–5 mm long; disc florets 16–20 per capitulum, corolla 4–5 mm long, pale yellow to yellow; cypselae ca. 2 mm long, eglandular, pappus 50–60 bristles.
Geographic distribution: —Endemic to Mexico, Oaxaca (MEXU 1220158) and Veracruz states (MO 822730!) ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ).
