Type (lectotype, designated here):— BRAZIL. Mato Grosso, “from Cavalcante to Porto Real”, no date, Burchell 8351 ( K000586892 ; isolectotypes: GH00030734 , K000586891 , L0041053 , LE00000342 , P00689959 , B [†]). ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 )
Protologue citation:—“ Brasilien: Ohne bestimmten Standort, wahrscheinlich Matto Grosso (Burchell n. 8351).”
Notes:— Schumann (1902) cited only the gathering Burchell 8351, without specifying a herbarium. Six specimens and a photograph of Macbride’s Collection (Photo Negative no. F 9837) were found with labels correctly indicating collector and gathering number. The specimen placed at B herbarium, subsequently destroyed, was certainly analyzed by Schumann, since it bears a label of revision with the author’s signature. Among them, we chose to designate specimen K 000586892 here as the lectotype since it also has the author´s annotation, indicating it as a new species.
