ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Campogaster parvulus Rondani, 1856 .

TYPE SPECIES: Campogaster parvulus Rondani, 1856 [= Tachina exigua Meigen, 1824 ], by original designation.

CURRENT STATUS: Junior synonym of Microsoma Macquart, 1855 [ teste Sabrosky (1999: 74) ].

FAMILY: TACHINIDAE .

REMARKS: Although Herting & Dely-Draskovits (1993: 397) gave the method of type fixation for Campogaster in Rondani (1856: 80) as by original designation, they listed the type species as dating from Rondani (1861e: 150). This is incorrect. The characters in Rondani (1856: 80) that make the genus-group name available serve to also make available Campogaster parvulus as the singly included species.
