CURRENT STATUS: Unjustified emendation of Atomogaster Macquart, 1835 ; junior synonym of Azelia Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 . New synonymy.

FAMILY: MUSCIDAE .

REMARKS: Name made available as an emendation by virtue of similar spelling changes in two or more names from “t” to “th” in the same work. Atomogaster Macquart, 1835 is currently treated as a junior synonym of Azelia Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 [ teste Huckett (1965: 898) ].
