TYPE SPECIES: Sargus pallipes Meigen, 1830 [= Sargus flavicornis Meigen, 1822 ], automatic [by designation of the same species (by original designation) for Clorisoma Rondani, 1856 ].
CURRENT STATUS: Unnecessary new replacement name for Clorisoma Rondani, 1856 ; junior synonym of Microchrysa Loew, 1855 [ teste Woodley (2001: 202) ].
FAMILY: STRATIOMYIDAE .
REMARKS: Rondani (1861e: 11) changed the spelling of Clorisoma Rondani, 1856 to Chlorisoma (see above), which would be preoccupied by Chlorisoma Swainson, 1837 , and therefore proposed the new replacement name Chlorosia .
