ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Gastrolepta gentilis Rondani, 1862 .

TYPE SPECIES: Gastrolepta gentilis Rondani, 1862 [= Dexia anthracina Meigen, 1826 ], by monotypy. CURRENT STATUS: Valid genus [ teste Herting & Dely-Draskovits (1993: 149) ].

FAMILY: TACHINIDAE .

CURRENT STATUS: Unavailable name; name proposed in synonymy [with Oestrus Linnaeus, 1758 (as “ Aestrus ”)] and not made available by subsequent usage before 1961.

FAMILY: OESTRIDAE .

REMARKS: This is possibly an alternate original spelling for Enteromyza Rondani, 1857 . However, as no association with that name is made in the index where this spelling appears, the only inference that can be made from “ Gastromysa V. G. Aestrus ” in Rondani (1857: 258) is as a name proposed in synonymy with Oestrus Linnaeus, 1758 .
