ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Psila lefebvrei Zetterstedt, 1835 .

TYPE SPECIES: Psila lefebvrei Zetterstedt, 1835 , by original designation .

CURRENT STATUS: Preoccupied by Griffith & Pigeon, 1831; senior (but invalid) synonym of Psilosoma Zetterstedt, 1860 [ teste Soós (1984a: 32) ].

FAMILY: PSILIDAE .

REMARKS: There are two original spellings of this genus-group name in Rondani (1856): Pachilomera (page 122) and Pachylomera (page 218). Marschall (1873: 340) used the former spelling, but criteria for a First Reviser action fixing this name as the correct original spelling were not found to be fulfilled in this work. By subsequent usage (ICZN Code Article 24.2.4), Rondani (1876: 188) acted as First Reviser and selected Pachylomera as the correct original spelling.

REMARKS: There are two spellings of this genus-group name in Rondani (1856): Pachyrhina (page 188) and Pachyrhyna (page 218). The former spelling is Macquart’s original spelling and the latter spelling is either an incorrect subsequent spelling or unjustified emendation by virtue of similar spelling changes in two or more names from “i” to “y” in the same work. Because Rondani’s treatment of Pachyrhyna is ambiguous, we thus follow ICZN Code Article 33.5 in treating this spelling as an incorrect subsequent spelling.
