ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Anthomyia ocypterata Meigen, 1826 (as “ Hylemya Ocypterata Meig. ”).

TYPE SPECIES: Anthomyia ocypterata Meigen, 1826 (as “ Hylemya Ocypterata Meig. ”), by original designation.

CURRENT STATUS: Junior synonym of Eginia Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 [ teste Sabrosky (1999: 294) ].

FAMILY: MUSCIDAE .

CURRENT STATUS: Incorrect subsequent spelling of Silvius Meigen, 1820 .

FAMILY: TABANIDAE .

REMARKS: The earliest mention of Silvius Meigen, 1820 using the spelling “ Sylvius ” that we have found in this study is in Macquart (1826: 485), as an incorrect subsequent spelling. In Rondani (1856) this is either an incorrect subsequent spelling or unjustified emendation (by virtue of similar spelling changes in two or more names from “i” to “y” in the same work). We thus follow ICZN Code Article 33.5 in treating this spelling in Rondani (1856) as an incorrect subsequent spelling.
