CURRENT STATUS: Unjustified emendation of Sphiximorpha Rondani, 1850 ; junior synonym of Sphiximorpha Rondani, 1850 (as a subgenus of Ceriana Rafinesque, 1815 ). New synonymy.
FAMILY: SYRPHIDAE .
REMARKS: Name made available as an emendation by virtue of similar spelling changes in two or more names from “i” to “y” in the same work. Sphiximorpha Rondani, 1850 is treated as a subgenus of Ceriana Rafinesque, 1815 [ teste Thompson & Vockeroth (1989: 456) ].
