Filellum serratum ( Clarke, 1879) View in CoL
(fig. 4H, I)
Lafoëa serrata Clarke, 1879: 244 View in CoL , pl. 4 fig. 25.
Filellum serratum View in CoL ― Peña Cantero et al., 1998: 304, figs 1, 2.
Material examined. Stn.9: 21.11.2009, 21 m—numerous hydrothecae creeping on surface of worm tubes and stems of Halecium tenellum Hincks, 1861 . Stn.12: 30.11.2009, 12–15 m—rare hydrothecae on worm tube and stems of Sertularia tongensis ( Stechow, 1919) . Stn.20: 26.11.2009, 20 m—numerous hydrothecae on hydrorhiza of Pennaria disticha Goldfuss, 1820 .
Remarks. Though sterile, the present material is assigned to Clarke’s (1879) species partly on the account of the presence of numerous close-set ridges on the abaxial wall of the adnate part of hydrothecae, and partly on the Caribbean origin of the type.
Caribbean records. Off Grenada ( Fraser 1943).
World distribution. See Peña Cantero et al. (1998).
