( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1–4 )
Spilosoma aurantiacum, Kiriakoff, 1952: 21 ( Uganda: Semliki Forest, 2850 ft.), 1965: 9 ([ Zaire]: Kabunga (Kivu), Galaia (arr. Djuga, Kibali-Ituri)).
Material examined. 1 ♂, Uganda, Western Region , Kibale Distr., Kibale Biol. Field Station of MakerSU, N 00° 33' 68", W 030° 21' 42", h= 1511 m, on light, 19- 24.10.2014, leg. V. V. Аnikin ( SZMN) GoogleMaps .
Description: Forewing length 15 mm; forewings yellowish brown speckled by darker scales; pattern consists of transversal bands: a V-shaped narrower subbasal band, a V-shaped wider antemedial band (connecting by its angle with discal vein), a curved and narrow postmedial band with a concavity between veins M1 and M2; apical stroke directed towards vein M2, and several marginal spots in internervular spaces, those between veins M1 and Cu1 slightly larger; hindwings light yellow, with a single discal spot. Male genitalia ( Figs. 10, 12 View FIGURES 9–12 ): uncus long and straight, apically slightly enlarged and bifurcate with two short lateral subapical processes; cucullus with apical bulbous and rugose enlargement with a small external concavity; proximal part of this bulb covered with spines; sacculus less sclerotized than cucullus apex, finger-like, apically covered with long chaetae; juxta sclerotized apically forming a triangular process; saccus short and broad; aedeagus simple, without spines, straight or slightly curved; vesica bag-like, covered by small spiniculi.
Remarks. By the wing pattern the type species is similar to the previous species but the ground colour is more yellowish; the antemedial band only touches the hind margin of the discal bracket. The male genitalia structure is also characteristic, namely a very short lateral subapical processes of uncus, a bulbous-like cucullus apex rounded externally; a finger-like sacculus. The aedeagus and vesica structure have no visible differences from the type species.
