Remarks. This species is represented by two subspecies, A. terrealis reisseri (Zerny, 1932) and A. terrealis terrealis ( Treitschke, 1829) ( Slamka 2013) . In the former, the forewing has a brownish-orange ground colour with distinct discoidal spot and cross lines ( Slamka 2013); the latter is darker with normally indistinguishable cross lines. Anania terrealis reisseri is reported from Spain, Portugal and Morocco ( Speidel & Hanigk 1990), and A. terrealis terrealis is distributed in France, Turkey, Transcaucasia, Central Asia, China, south of Siberia, Primorye, Sakhalin, S Kuryles Island and Japan ( Slamka 2013). The wing pattern ( Fig. 2A View FIGURE 2 ) and genitalia of the two female specimens collected in Iran ( Fig. 3K View FIGURE 3 ) match with those figured by Slamka (2013: 219, 299) for A. terrealis terrealis . This species is newly reported for the fauna of Iran.
