2. Rhynchortalia viridis sp. n.

( Figs. 2 View FIGURES 1–12 , 19 View FIGURES 18–29 , 34–37 View FIGURES 30–56 )

Diagnosis: This species is similar to R. australis , but can be distinguished by the brilliant iridescent green elytra with yellowish apices, anterior edge of pronotal hypomeral shelf distinctly projecting beyond anterolateral corners of pronotum in dorsal view, and much coarser and stronger elytral punctures on lateral sides. The male genitalia ( Figs. 34–37 View FIGURES 30–56 ), with the penis guide distinctly shorter than parameres and the siphonal apex ( Fig. 37 View FIGURES 30–56 ), are diagnostic.

Description: Length: 3.5–4.5 mm; width: 2.5–3.0 mm. Body elongate oval ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1–12 ), moderately convex with silvery white pubescence. Head and pronotum luteous yellow to yellowish brown; elytra brilliant iridescent green, sometimes with bluish/aeneous reflection, apically testaceous or yellowish brown. Antenna, mouthparts, prosternum, legs, and abdomen yellowish to yellowish brown; mesosventrite infuscate to black, metaventrite, metacoxae black, epipleura dark with iridescent reflections, abdominal ventrite 1 medially darker than rest of sclerite, postcoxal lines dark brown, occasionally hind legs with coxae, trochanters and femora dark brown or only middle of femora infuscate.

Head with frons concave, deeply impressed, punctures fine, shallow, mainly confined to posterior half and lateral to eyes, diffuse medially, obsolete towards clypeal margin, interspaces smooth, shining, inner ocular margins obtusely divergent below antennal insertions, lenticular. Pronotum quadrate, finely and uniformly punctate on disc, punctures slightly larger and denser on lateral sides and anterolateral corners, separated by 2–4 diameters, interspaces with reticulate microsculpture on sides and anterolateral corners, more weakly reticulate on disc. Elytra with distinct dual punctures, large punctures on disc about 2x as large as smaller ones, diffuse, smaller punctures in interstices separated by 2–4 diameters, interspaces shining, lateral half of elytra with more distinctly coarse punctures, 2–5x as large as smaller ones and denser, elytral margins with coarse punctures separated by less than one diameter and crater–like, appearing rough to corrugated. Pronotal hypomeral shelf visible in dorsal view, anteriorly projecting significantly beyond anterior corner of pronotum, obtriangular, posterior margin reaching middle of procoxal cavity, distinctly at higher plane than rest of hypomeron, medially shallowly foveate or depressed. Anterior margin of mesoventrite shallowly emarginate medially. Abdominal postcoxal lines shallow and semicircular. Visible ventrites 5 and 6 in female posteriorly arcuate and conical, respectively. Posterior margin of ventrite 5 in male shallowly emarginate, ventrite 6 ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 18–29 ) deeply emarginate with medial parabolic notch, fimbriate with elongate setae. Male genitalia ( Figs. 34– 37 View FIGURES 30–56 ) with penis guide extending beyond 2/3 length of parameres, basally subparallel and cylindrical, apical 1/3 gradually narrowed and conical in ventral view, parameres with inner and outer margins setose in apical half, inner surface diffusely setose in apical 1/3; penis apex ( Fig. 37 View FIGURES 30–56 ) as illustrated.
