Previous records. São Vicente estuary ( Almeida et al. 2012b).
Remarks. Athanas nitescens is an exotic alpheid species from the eastern Atlantic, recorded for the first time in São Paulo by Almeida et al. (2012b). Here we collected 11 additional individuals, including seven ovigerous females, from Enseada de Ubatuba and Cananéia. The animals were sampled at an intertidal depth up to 35 m, indicating that the species was successfully introduced to the São Paulo coast. GenBank accession number: CCDB 3480—16S ( KU312972 View Materials ).
