individual sailfin catfishes were captured using seines by local fishermen in the Yojoa Lake area in Honduras in September of 2018 and a third one in January 2019 in the Jucutuma lagoon ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 ). The first specimen was captured by fishermen on the southern side of Yojoa Lake in the area called La Ensenada ( Fig 3 View FIGURE 3 ; 14.794734°N, 87.996477° W) at 645 mts above sea level at the drainage of a tributary in a marshy area, a second specimen was collected also by fishermen on the Eastern side of the lake (14.845496°N, 87.966477°W) at 642 mts above sea level at the drainage of the Naturaleza Creek into the lake near a bridge roadside, both captures occurred 10 days apart in September. GoogleMaps The third specimen was collected in Jucutuma lagoon (15.509635°N, 87.904576°W) at 26 mts above sea level near the lake border. The first two individuals were deposited at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras Valle de Sula Fish Collection (MUVS- 203 and MUVS-204). The third individual, from Jucutuma lagoon, was kept by the fisherman and is kept live in a local restaurant aquarium GoogleMaps .
