Campostichomma pumilus SImOn, 1898A: 8 (MAlE hOlOtypE FrOm KAndy, SrI LAnkA, dEpOsItEd In MNHN 18298, ExAmInEd). Devendra pumila , LEhtInEn 1967: 228 (trAnsFEr tO Devendra ).
D. pumilus , WSC 2017.
Diagnosis. Males of D. pumilus can be diagnosed from males of other Devendra species in having the palpal tibia with the retrolateral cuticular projection sub-basal, nearly as long as the tibia, surmounted with a large, arrowshaped spine, the embolus attenuate ( Fig. 11A, C View FIGURE 11 ) and the median apophysis with a large lobe extending proximad of its joint with the tegulum ( Fig. 11A–C View FIGURE 11 ).
DesCription. Male (holotype, MNHN 18298): Total length 3.90. Markings typical for genus, as in Fig. 9D View FIGURE 9 . Carapace 2.10 long, 1.55 wide, 0.80 high; clypeus 0.03 high. Eye diameters: AME 0.12, ALE 0.18, PME 0.12, PLE 0.20. Chelicerae 0.70 long; sternum 1.10 long, 0.80 wide; labium 0.35 long, palpal coxae 0.64 long. Spination as in genus description. Leg measurements (Femur + Patella + Tibia + Metatarsus + Tarsus = [Total]): I: 1.60 + 0.70 + 1.50 + 1.40 + 0.90 = 6.10; II: 1.40 + 0.70 + 1.15 + 1.20 + 0.80 = 5.25; III: 1.30 + 0.70 + 1.00 + 1.35 + 0.80 = 5.15; IV: 1.70 + 0.70 + 1.50 + 2.20 + 1.00 = 7.10. Leg formula 4123. Palp: tibia almost the same length as cymbium, RTA at base of tibia, RTA as long as tibia, with an elongated sclerotized projection with sharply pointed apex ( Fig. 11A, B View FIGURE 11 ); cymbium tapering gradually to base; oval tegulum ( Fig. 11A–C View FIGURE 11 ); MA S-shaped, with central origin ( Fig. 11A View FIGURE 11 ); elongated, hyaline conductor ( Fig. 11A View FIGURE 11 ); embolus convex, gradually tapering to pointed apex ( Fig. 11A View FIGURE 11 ).
Female. Unknown.
Material examined. Only the type.
Distribution. Known only from the type locality at Kandy in Sri Lanka ( Fig. 14 View FIGURE14 ).
