Comment. Oxypoda lurida is widespread and common especially in the south of the Western Palaearctic region. Smetana (2004) lists the species only from the European part of Turkey, but Zerche (1996) had already reported it from Antalya province. In Anatolia, its known distribution ranges from Izmir in the northwest to Gaziantep in the east ( Fig. 41 View FIGURE 41 ). It has been collected in a variety of habitats at lower to intermediate altitudes (0–1170 m). Almost all the above specimens are females.
