Material examined. Japan: 1♁, G. Lewis, Sharp Coll 1905-313 ( BMNH).
Measurements. Male: BL: 15.4 mm, FL: 7.3 mm. HL: 1.86 mm, HW: 2.19 mm, EYL: 0.66 mm, TL: 0.81 mm, PL: 2.52 mm, PW: 2.45 mm, EL: 3.07 mm, EW: 2.92 mm. HW/HL: 1.18, TL/EYL: 1.23, PL/PW: 1.03, EL/EW: 1.05.
Distribution. This species is widely distributed in Japan (Hokkaido, Honshu, Kyushu, Shikoku) ( Newton 2021) and reported from South Korea ( Yuh et al. 1985).
Diagnosis. The species is similar to P. juang in appearance, but it can be distinguished from the latter by the more prominent temples, shorter pronotum, and coarser punctation of the head.
